A Duncan JB with an allparts cover shouldn't sound too different if it was an orgi duncan cover right?

I don't think there would be much difference if any.. they seem to be the same material... not 100% shure on that though

I'm not sure if the Allparts covers will fit the standard Seymour Duncan humbuckers. I've not tried this myself but it's always a good idea to get parts from the same manufacturer. These manufactures have slightly different measurements and usually when you try to fit them together, most likely the parts will be slightly off.
Seymour Duncan uses German Nickel on their covers which is a non-porous material and will not be affecting the tone of the pickup. I'm not sure what type of material Allparts use on their covers.

It's the summer here and it gets really hot, i.e. 38 deg C occassionally (around 100 deg Fahrenheit)... I'm glad I'm inside the office (21-22 deg C) when it reaches that temp... and, I'm going to Boracay next week! Woohoo!!! http://www.boracayonline.com/gallery/scenery.html

Nwy, I may not be able to get Duncan Covers for that. Most likely, I'll be buying Allparts covers. Are they any good?

Yeah, but our local retailer doesn't sell them. So I'm thinking of buying allparts covers. The website says they have nickel-silver covers. Those should be good right? quite expensive though.

I bought a JB w/ Nickel cover from Lew for my PRS. He installed the cover, potted it etc. I just got my PRS Custom 22 back yesterday and put it through its paces. Problem is, this is my first JB, so I can't really comment if the cover affects the tone or not! :duh:

I will say this, there is absolutely no problem with microphonics, I intentionally played very loud to see if there were any issues. I really doubt the cover altered the tone, it sounds exactly the way its supposed to.

Now I have a set of Dragon II's to unload! :wink:

Those were taken from 4 days of fun... banana boat ride, snorkelling, swimming, island hoping, massage, dining... all good stuff... I got sunburned (if there's such a term, haha!) though...

I'm still coaxing my friend to sell me his LP... I already have some guy ready to sell me his JB... so yeah, I sure will tell you when I can't find one here...

Seymour Duncan dealers can get Nickel and Gold covers. They are purchased from Seymour Duncan. You can get some from allparts but why when you can get one from Seymour Duncan made for Duncan pickups. PM me if your interested.
