saddly mine is not even black.... it's bare plywood..... some dummy peeled off all the vinyl and stick some army camo-cloth on it for the Zak Wild look.... This amps is my pet project to get back in shape.....

Re: Jcm 800 Gas

The white is the 20th anniversary model made in 1982. Only 250...made that includes heads and combos. I just picked one up myself. Waiting on the delivery should be here by Friday.

Re: Jcm 800 Gas

My JCM 800 has puke and beer on it !I believe it adds to the over-all sound though.Moreover-when the tubes heat up it gives it that ambience pub aroma!!

Re: Jcm 800 Gas

I suffered from the JCM800 gas thing last month....as a result, I ordered some good trannies, a bag of tube sockets, switches, resistors and caps, a chassis from komboking and some custom faceplates from BNPLasers.

Haven't started work yet since finals have been governing my world, but now that it's over...I plan to have a fully operational and fully ass-kicking amp in the next few weeks....

I actually have the head cabinet 1/2 done. Need to round over the corners and tolex it...

You will have more stuff by the time you are my age - 43. You have way more stuff then I had at 21. Keep up the good work. But I did think about taking stuff off the signature more then once.

Re: Jcm 800 Gas

Make sure you like 6550's - that is what is usually in the JCM800 20th Anniversary. I almost bought one 2 years ago.

Great amps!

2 ideas for you - 1) goto Splawn's website and buy an amp head cab for your JCM800 - I suggest Snakeskin vinyl - but I am tacky like that!

2) Get the JCM800 20th Anniv. in you can. Have it converted to EL34's, if it isn't already.

Those amps are a joy to play.

Re: Jcm 800 Gas

So i walk into the local store called The Arts today as i heard they had a Gibson sale on... Looking around i found they have a mid-late 80's JCM 800 1959 model 100 watter in with a 90's 900 cab.... the head was $750 Canadian and the Cab they wanted $650.... Cab was priced a bit high but the head is alright!

If i had not paid $700 in Vet bills for my aging dog that head would be home with me right now...

But on the other hand where could i turn a JCM 800 100 watter up! I have a hard enough time crankin my 50 watt heads.....
