JCM 800's sound

Sorry if i borrow you again, but i'd like to ask you an important question:
i've listen to the sample of jcm 800 series from marshall's site, i know it's quite different from listen to in the live, but i think it has a good sound.

Do you know if it changed from the JCM build in the 80s?

Thanks, bye

I'm not sure about the tone of the newer ones (never played one..) but I have an '83 50 watts combo and I just love this thing cranked! It's just really really nice...
Plus, you can get an older one in good conditions for way less than what you'd pay for a brand new one, and you'll be sure it sounds great... Good luck!

I totally agree. I've played my friend's 1980 JCM 800 combo for years and it just can't be beat in terms of tone. It only lacks a reverb, but who cares? As Surgeon said, you can't beat the price either.

Re: JCM 800's sound

Thanks.
How many years you have to change tube?
(However it's a Marshall and it should't have this kind of problem, i'm right?)

I think it's a good idea to take a used one, but the problem is who is selling it... When somebody try it, he don't leave it no more!!!

Thanks :saeek:
