Jeff Loomis blackout bridge question

regards from greece!i have about for 3 months a schecter JL7 fr
and i have also and the 6 string version.the pickups sound the same
and i found the bridge pickups with both guitars very noisy when i turn the volume
at full position with distortion sound.i have also and other guitar
with also high output, a blackjack with the classic blackouts and they are
quiet.i check the wiring and also i switch the bridge with the neck
and the bridge has the same noise so i quess that there is not something with
the wiring.(i am not an expert with wiring ,just some basics).

the jl7 came without grounding with the bridge from the factory, but i fixed that.
the neck is ok but with little cracking noize with distortion.with cleans they play good.
they only way to manage the noise is with a noise gate and to put the volume
down about 1/4 but i am loosing sustain and response.i test with many devices
the guitars, amps, modelers, pedals.they sound the same .
is that the normal for those pickups or is something wrong maybe?

Re: Jeff Loomis blackout bridge question

thanks for the answer.i will check it but is the same
problem with both guitars JL6 and JL7 and i switch
the positions of the pickups too.the bridge is noisy
even in the neck position and the neck pickup
is ok at bridge position.
i am thinking to change everything,volume pot,switch
cables ect but before that i thought to see if anybody
had the same problem.

Re: Jeff Loomis blackout bridge question

There are more knowledgable people on here than me, they will sure have other ideas. But if you are handy with soldering and the lieks, the bruteforce troubleshooting method is to sort of reverse engineer the wiring: pup directly to jack, then introduce the swith and pots one by one. Also, as I'm writing this... Hight output pickups plus distrortion equals noise. So if its just a constant "sssshhhhhhh", I'd say tere is nothing wrong. I get that with all my pickups, from passive to EMG. And if I am well informed, the Blackouts are particularly high output. Step on your noisegate and riff away!

Re: Jeff Loomis blackout bridge question

yes the noise is the one like the high ouput pickups but
way biger compare with others at the same kind
so maybe its a characteristic of the pickup.
thanks for your help!

Re: Jeff Loomis blackout bridge question

just for the record i switch the bridge pickups
with jl6 and blackjack sls.the noise comes
from the jl blackout bridge.very big difference
with the AHB-1B
