Jeremy,Lew,Twangbanger Tone Gurus...Opinions Please?

Guys...Please take 2 minutes for me and actually measure your Twangbanger pickup heights for me..I have mine set at 6/64 ths both E strings with the strings depressed at the highest frets...

Do I need to rethink about the height I chose with this pickup in the bridge to get it's maximum tone from it or could you share your so called "sweet spot" with me..Thanks..Would appreciate some help... :wink:

With the E strings held down at the 21st fret:

Low E: about 1/16"

Hi E: even closer!

I keep the bridge pickup pretty close on all of my Strats...

But I keep the neck and middle pickups further away and the middle pickup furthest away.

The magnetic pull of the polepieces is cumulative...that means I can move the bridge pickup pretty close as long as I keep the poles from other two pickups further away.

I just do it by ear and play up above the 12th fret on the low E and adjust the neck and middle pickups away until I don't hear them pulling the string out of tune.

Wow! Thanks guys....Such a huge measurement difference between you both....And I'm right smack in the middle of both your measurements right now at 6/64" both sides....Lew....You really like your poles up there close buddy... :wink:

Brisk...What were your findings when you adjusted your TB up closer? How did you come up with your settings? Your pickups seem pretty low by my standards,but I may be missing something with this pickup?
