Jerry Donahue in Bridge/Alnico II in Neck

Alright I have a 2006 MIM Tele. Was looking to finally throw in some SD's. Play reggae ska pop.

If I put a Donahue in the bridge, would the Alnico be a good match?

If I went with the Alnico Lead in the Bridge, what would be a good pup to throw in the neck?

Any help would be appreciated...and quickly!

I have a JD paired with a Vintage 54 Neck. Its awesome. The middle is a killer rhythm tone. If you wanted to go with the Alnico II i would think that would also sound very nice, but I have no experience with it. Do you want to stay with true single coils? If not a really nice combination is a Firebird minihum with the Jery D.

Would putting in an Alnico II in the neck too closely resemble the Donahue in the bridge when set to the middle position?

I don't quite understand what you're asking here. Are you talking Alnico 2 Tele neck, bridge, or Strat pickup? I will say though, that I have used a JD with an APTR-1 in the neck. the neck position was too dark and mellow for me. IMO, the DiMarzio Twang King is one of the best Tele neck pickups made. It is warm, open, and very full sounding.

My personal favorite Tele neck pickup is the STR-2. It's a little hotter than the Alnico II.

APII tele neck pickup is a perfect match... especially with the cover removed.
