I've been looking at all of these Tele modding threads and started to think about modding my own MIM Tele. Currently it has a standard Tele 3-way, a QP neck and bridge, and a master bass cut switch along with the standard volume and tone.
What I was looking at was replacing the neck and bridge with a Seth Lover and Jerry Donahue Lead pickup. My question was, does the JD have enough bass so that if I turned on the bass cut switch, the bridge position wouldn't be too thin sounding.
I hear this is a mighty versatile set, and I don't want to have to remove the bass cut switch, because that would mean I would need to get a new control plate, plus it's rather useful for the neck pickup if I want something more jazzy.
