Does anyone know if the Eminence speakers that are loaded in their combo amps and cabs are based on an actual Eminence, or are they specially made for Jet City? My thoughts would be that they would just be a swamp thang or a Texas heat with a jet city logo on them. Anyone know for sure?

Re: Jet city Eminence speakers

The Texas heats are great too. I use them with my amp and they are a great fit. Very good for amps that live in the mid and lower mid range. And they won't break the bank either

Re: Jet city Eminence speakers

I had read somewhere that the Eminence driver in the Jet City cabs is based on the Legend M12 that was once OEM in the Soldano cabs.

I find it odd that out of the four different 12" Legend series speakers currently available on the Eminence website, NONE are rated for 16 ohms. Whatever they used in my JCA12S, it wasn't an off-the-shelf Legend.

Re: Jet city Eminence speakers

Eminence make some awesome speakers, and some cheap ones. Just as fender make some awesome axes and some cheap ones.
Eminence make the Texas Heats and Swamp things which as we all know are killer speakers. They also make OEM speakers for fender, black heart and others that are rubbish. You get what you pay for with speakers. The name on the back tells you very little.
You can be sure they are not rebadged swampies or Tex Heats tho....cos if they were Jet City would be saying "contains Texas Heats!" rather than "made by eminence" or anything like that. Nah, they are just stock, bang for buck speakers made to fit a price point. NO reason they should not sound pretty good tho.

Legend speakers can be special ordered in 16-ohm. Avatar does so now and then. I bought a pair.

Re: Jet city Eminence speakers

When I was making the rounds looking for a new speaker for my amp, I ran across this demo comparing a WGS Retro30 to the Jet city 20 watt combo speaker. The comparison obviously isnt perfect, but I thought the difference in the amp running the WGS was pretty evident, especially in volume. That would lead me to believe the stock Eminenance isnt quite top notch.
