Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

CTN

The Drama Dude
This is my first actual recording of the JCA, and it sounds pretty sweet!

Drums courtesy of Harmony Central forum member Killzone.

Used the JCA100H's FX loop send into my computer. GuitarHacks impulses loaded into LePou LeCab2, and added some light compression and EQ, and a little bit of delay for the leads.

Guitar was my homemade axe (alder body, maple neck/fretboard, wilkinson trem, 1 vol, 1 kill switch, 3-way selector) with a DMZ PAF Pro, tuned down to C Standard, using 11-54's.

damn, is that all just strait amp distortion? i didnt know they got that growly. sounds good

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

Thanks guys!

woemoejack, that's double tracked rhythms, which thickens it up a bit, but I had the gain only about halfway up on the overdrive channel.

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

yup, exactly the same as the rhythms, only difference was the addition of delay.

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

HAHAHA rad!

They are very cool amps. Incredibly simple, but with killer tone. In a band situation, they sound pretty much identical to the Soldano Hot Rod series.

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

You might wanna try some slightly heavier strings. on a 24.75" scale, 11-54's will have less string tension, and more flapping around!

i have 9-42's on there now but it doesn't seem anymore slinky than my superstrat, i think the tailpiece is probably set too low...

After listening to the clip I looked up some videos on youtube. Between listening to your clip and watching those videos, I really want to go check one out.

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

Nice Job!! That has me wanting one too!! I had a JCA20 for awhile and really liked it, but had to sell it..

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

Very cool dude. are you using an od pedal? I am taking my peavey to GC tomorrow and ordering the JCA100H now, finally.

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

nice work, jet city has cool stuff, i've got my blackstar head running into a jet city cab and the sound is killer.

Re: Jet City JCA100H doomy clip

Sounds pretty awesome man ...

Sorely tempted to pick up a JCA50 to run side by side with the Recto.
