Jettenuator?

Does anyone use the Jet city Jettenuators? If so, how do they work for you? Pros? cons? Id like a good low budget attenuator. I have some that I use that I got off ebay a few years back, but I have to run 2 in a chain. plus, Im not real confident in how safe it is for my amp. And I surely dont wanna screw up my amp..

Thanks!!

Re: Jettenuator?

I like my Tom Scholz Power Soaks. They're cheaper than most of the others, and you can switch the OHM ratings, meaning you don't have to have specific ones for different amps.

something to think about.. didnt think about that since they are no longer made.. I love my old rockman chorus..

Re: Jettenuator?

I used a Jettenuator between my Bugera 1960 Infinium and my Peavey 412MS and it performs like a champ.

I've spent a good deal of time with the amp dimed (PPIMV bypassed). It does lose a little bit of treble when you have it at "the baby is sleeping, so SHHHHH!!!" level, but at slightly higher than "the wife is looking at me like she may crush me with my 4x12" volume it opens up nicely.

Re: Jettenuator?

Good info! most of the reviews Ive seen (MF and places) have been positive except for some notes re treble loss. I honestly would EXPECT some kind of degradation somewhere trying to tame a raging 100 watt monster down to bedroom levels. I wasnt sure baby sleeping levels would even be possible.. But great to know! I have no more babys, but a wife that hates guitar.... sooo.... different, yet same....

Back at the old house (and I hope I have room for my gear wherever I end up moving) I used to play through the amp in my office which was about 8 feet from the TV that my wife would be watching and she never complained. It could get down THAT low.

And, yeah, there is treble loss because it is a resistive load. But EVH used a big resistor between the amp and cab and it still sounded nice and bright at volume.
