JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

Its probably a bad cable if your plugging the wah in the correct in/outs. Carry an extra patch cable with you next time to church.

If it still doesn't work then, well, carry the rp360 along with you next time. Doesnt the mustang floor unit have a wah effect in it? You could try using that instead if it has one.

Thats the thing, it works until you switch it on, so i dont think its a cable issue. I have looked all over that mustang floor settings and havent seen a wah setting anywhere (unless its buried somewhere in a sub menu that i dont know about).

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

Did you try it on the effects loop of the mustang? If it doesn't work on the effects loop then you know that the wah has an issue.

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

I havent been to the church to check it yet....once i do, ill post on here if it worked through the loop of not

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

Hmmn, if it passes signal when bypassed then perhaps its a problem within the pedal. I'd start by looking at the battery connector connections to the board. If it uses those plastic white jumper/servo(the kind you find in pc cabinet) connectors, maybe its gotten loose or the the connection of the potentiometer to board might be loose. Check those by gently moving them when the wah is ON, if the sound cuts out then its easy to know the problem source. Otherwise, i have no idea.

See that's the thing. When I use it at home for practice through my Digitech processor, it works fine. But when I use it at the church through the mustang floor, it don't work when activated but works when deactivated.

That sounds like a power issue, but you said you're using a battery to power it and it's worked on the same battery after it didn't work at church.

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

You have a battery troll living inside the pedal. LOL

In all seriousness, without seeing it, I have no clue. It's probably something simple and silly that we'd just need to lay our eyes on.

The front battery controls ONLY the switch and the under pedal LEDs that I added for that extra stage visual lol. Nothing was attached to the actual pedal circuitry at all. No holes drilled in the pedal either. Hope these photos will help.

Without seeing the circuit and testing voltages and everything like that, I have no clue what could be wrong. It is weird that it is doing this if the circuit is stock. There is a way to get a wah setting on the mustang look it up online it will tell you how.

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

Sorry for the caps.....I am at work and my computer never comes off caps lock since it is habitual....working on that though.....
As far as the wiring goes, I havent done any mods to the pedal. Its still stock, the switch isnt true bypass either....but why would it work with one pedal, but not the other is whats befuddling to me.

What do you do that has you in front of a computer all day yet requires you to key everything in all caps??

I'm a cable technician and we have to fill out our work orders in all caps So over the course of 3 years it has become a habit when I'm on my work computer. If I'm on my phone or iPad, it's not that bad.

That makes sense.

You know, your employer could save a lot of money on training and form validation if they hired a technical writer to optimize your work order forms to automatically convert all text entry into all caps.

Plus, then they wouldn't foster bad Internet etiquette in their employees. :) j/k

Haha oh well. If I owned the company, maybe, but I just work for them.

Re: JIM DUNLOP WAH PEDAL ISSUE

The toggle switch near the yellow duracell, what does it control? The wiring in that area is appearing to be poor, if that cell is powering the wah circuit then wiggle the pink wires when the wah is on & notice if the sound cuts out. Another thing, the wires near the wah potentiometer apear sorta skinny, checking if the soldering if proper on the pot as when as the switch near the black cell near the pot.

PS: The paintjob is wicked, not sure if it was necessary with the green leds. :P

The only thing the toggle switch controls is the LEDs....Nothing to do with the circuit....The "skinny" wires by the potentiometer are stock, nothing has been changed in the circuitry.

PS: Thanks. The LEDs were necessary lol. Stage presence man Stage presence.
