Jimi Hendrix's Flying V

I was watching Wild Blue Angel last night (that's the live DVD from the Isle of Wight 1970), and about half way into his set Jimi gets out the Flying V for a few songs.

The weird thing is, it's a lefty, with cool inlays (like the split parallelogram (sp?) ones on higher end Gibson ES models, but slightly different), gold hardware, the logo was at the tip of the headstock, instead of the middle and a vibrato (I think).

Does anyone know anything about this V?, was it a custom built one? or just a rare lefty one?

Ive got several pics of Jimi with a white V, just like that black one in the link, in the box set book.
