Yah, lots actually. He was probably one of the first guys to use pedals alot other than Hendrix, but obviously he was a bit more subtle with them.... But this was mostly just in the studio, before there were effects loops and everything pedals could be a real pain, so when Zep was live he only used a wah as far as i know. But "Dazed and Confused" definently used effects live (delay, maybe some modulation), but those were probably added at the mixer...

I think He used a tape echo. The old kind that ran on huge reels.

According to recent interviews he still uses the fuzzbox modified by Roger Meyers best guess a maestro,vox wah and a flanger.

I'm too young to have seen Zeppelin, but saw them in 92? and 97?.
Amazing shows. The first one was better, since they had a symphony orchestra behind them, recreating all their songs, just like the albums, even better IMO.
The 92 show was the first time I'd ever seen someone use a Theremin live!
A Theremin is basically an electronic device that senses movement in it's magnetic field. It looks like some crazy tabletop thing from "Back to the Future!" I remember Page fretting notes with his left hand, while waving his right hand around this magnetic stick, which was attached to a stand onstage. You know those old horror movie sound effects that sound like
wind blowing through trees, making a whistle type sound. That's the Theremin! I want one, just to mess with. :33:

Jimmy also used an MXR Distortion+, MXR microamp, and MXR phase 100 among multiple other effects live during his Zep years.

AFAIK there is a company making a faux Theremin that runs in a similar package to a mid sized guitar pedal, was reviewed in one of my mags ... not really a device that took off but I'll look out for one either way

Page also used a lot of studio tricks. The distortion tone on Black Dog is done by plugging directly into the board, overdriving the class a mic preamps, and then using a couple of compressors.
ALSO, some of the tones are effected by slowing the tape. It makes for a fatter sound. When The Levee Breaks is an example. He played it in G, then slowed the tape, so that it sounds like F.
