Jimmy Page Playing a SG

Rare pic. Evidently a jam with Ronnie Wood. Probably a borrowed guitar.

Re: Jimmy Page Playing a SG

Somewhere on YouTube is an interview with Ronnie talking about Jimmy and Jeff Beck. Jimmy was apparently very humble and avoided ever embarrassing or acting demeaning towards other players while Jeff was oblivious to how daunting his talent could be. Hey Ronnie can you do this .... Ronnie - No but I'll give it a damn good try!

Re: Jimmy Page Playing a SG

I know Beck is a legend, original blah blah. I just never got into his stuff like the other guys like Page

See, I liked Jimmy Page a lot until I heard what Jeff Beck was doing around the same time. That lead me to a host of other great players outside of hard rock, but still played with fire and intensity.

Re: Jimmy Page Playing a SG

Beck pushed the envelope back then, and he's STILL pushing the envelope. Jeff has to be one of my favorites since the days of my youth. I loved Billy Gibbons back then, too - and now HE'S playing an SG.

Re: Jimmy Page Playing a SG

Unsurprisingly, he was cooler with a Kramer: ;)

Wonder if it was late enough to be a Gibson Kramer in that pic.

Re: Jimmy Page Playing a SG

Kramer haven't produced any model that quite resembles this during the Gibson era, although they do have a H-S-S model that is almost identical. This rather looks like something from the period 87-90.

Of course, it was conceivably taken after Gibson had acquired the name.
