Jimmy Page Wiring !!! Questions ?

Re: Jimmy Page Wiring !!! Questions ?

Sorry, Olin, didn't mean to make you sound like a spokesperson for the guitarelectronics wiring. What wiring did your tech use to fix it? Maybe this would be a good forum challenge to diagram the "correct" wiring scheme. I've already found a couple alternate diagrams, but haven't had time to check them out.

yeti- I always thought of it as the Schector Superock harness (not the JP harness), which was in the Donald Brosnac book. I put this in one of my LP's with 4 Schector Omnipots and it worked perfectly, with no dead positions. I believe that there was an error in the book that I did correct in the file below.

I redrew the design for modern DPDT push-pull pots but never did actually test it (there are two versions, the second one should offer more humcancelling linkages- I don't believe that the magnet needs to be flipped):

If anybody sees any flaws in these drawings let me know so that I can correct them!

Here is the drawing from the Gibson site:

[I vote for out-of-phase series linkages, whether split or full humbucker! ]

Re: Jimmy Page Wiring !!! Questions ?

Hey, nice work,Steve! I'm stowing these away for my next project guitar.
The magnet flip was just a way for me to bypass messing with my current wiring scheme - chock it up to laziness :bigthumb:. Ilike how it turned out, and don't necessarily miss any of the tones I lost with the change. I actually dig the neck and bridge split and out of phase, with super high gain - its like having your sinuses packed with razor blades, but in a GOOD way :).
