JMP-1 Pre w/ Mesa Recto Head?

Has anyone out there ever used a Marshall JMP-1 preamp into the Return of a Mesa Recto FX loop to use only the Mesa's power stage? I'm curious about the sound of a Marshall preamp stage combined with a Mesa power amp stage (without using a standalone Mesa power amp but rather the power stage of my Single Rec).

The JMP-1 has some cool Marshall sounds in it, so yeah, it would probably sound pretty cool with a couple of tweaks.

I'll let y'all know this weekend. My coworker brought his JMP-1 in today and I'll be bringing it home after work. He's planning on selling it. What would one of these babies go for in excellent condition?

I've seen them go from $250.00-500.00 used.....excellent condition, maybe $400-500.

The thing that really sucks is they cost a lot new...over $1000.00
I might have been a little low, but they do go regularly in the $400-500 range.
