what were they running through? Vox's, old Fender amps, Marshalls? there are some really great sounding guitars. small town, authority song, scarecrow , all those great songs. what were those great ass guitar players jamming through ?

Vintage Marshall w/attenuator, 62 Vox AC-30, Fender Bassman and Blackfaces.
Gibson Jr, Tele, Gretsch.

That's the formula for much of it.

Couldn't stand his voice, but great songwriter, and awesome guitar work and toanz fo sho.

And don't forget the genius of Kenny Aronoff on drums!

He really lost me around the time he ditched Kenny to go with looped drum samples. Trying way to hard to sound relevant. Beginning of the end in my opinion.

I always loved the sound on "Get a Leg Up."


Actually the whole, "Whenever We Wanted" album was great in songwriting and sound. One of my top 10 albums.

I love that guy's vibe. Stripped down and soulful, one of the most unique (and loved) albums in my collection.
