This is the ugly guitar I was talking about.

Buy one of these flamed out babies for $1200-$1300 or so, and then have someone re-do it for you the color you'd like. Those guitar have some nice flame to them.

The refin idea is great! I figured it would be more. I know all the blue/black and purple Class 5 s are usually $2700-3500.
I cant imagine paying that, let alone not playing it first. I have to have a 60s neck. Cant do them huge club 50s ones.

this is a truth laden post.........i was thinking of buying a natural finish or unfinished les paul...and getting it refinished in purple......that artsy fartsy orange abomination is also a good candidate for a refinish job....i love my purple eclipse.......but it isnt a lespaul.
