Les Pauls+Trembuckers???

I recently just go a TB-15 A8 and installed it in a Gibson Les Paul Classic which seems to line up better on the strings(especially the high & low E's). Anyone else have TB's in the Pauls???

Cheers Primo.

Strange as trembuckers are spaced for Floyds or similar....if you like it better though, use that one. Are you sure it is a trem spaced unit and not a normal spaced pickup?

Yep, on the back it says its a TB-15.
Well, if it is working the way you want and sounding the way you want, go with it.
Everything is set up properly as far as your budge is concerned right?

Re: Les Pauls+Trembuckers???

Some years ago Gibson decreased the angle of their bridges, which gives the strings a wider spacing, which means F-spaced pickups now line up better than SH models.

Not sure if it's that way on every model, such as the VOS and RIs.

Re: Les Pauls+Trembuckers???

My LP Classic has the wider spacing so Trembuckers should line up better... that said I use a regular spaced JB and it still sounds great even though the pole pieces are a little off.

Slight OOT, so how does alternative 8 work for your LP?
Waiting for your review!

I love the A8's!!! I know have them in 2 of my LP's. I find both my Gibson LP's bright compared to my Epi LP with a JB(love the sound). The A8's in the LP's are warm and tight sounding, with great cut...never shrill or piercing. I find it similar to a JB, but the mids are more low then high like the JB. These pickups are loud and love to rock. For me at least for the moment, are my fav pickup!

cheers Primo.

Not at all strange, as many current Gibsons have a string spacing above 2" at the bridge.

The name "Trembucker" or Larry´s "F-spaced" is from an era when only Fender and Floyd made bridges that lined up better. That era ended about 10-15 years ago.

Today "Widebucker"would be a more accurate term, as there are numerous fixed bridges these days with similar spacings.

When deciding between trembucker and standard, the Seymour Duncan FAQ says to measure the spacing of the bridge a @the neck pickup, not to check: brand, model, bridge style, color, string guage or coolness factor of the instrument. ;)

At the neck pickup? Wouldn't the bridge make more sense?
