That in itself is worth the pricetag.....then you won't get that "burn" up on the headstock; you'll have a nice place to put the cig !!!!!

It comes in candy apple red! That alone is worth the price of admission.

I also like how a factory guitar finally comes with something bigger than 9-42. Sweet.

Nice, 10 gauge strings, V shape neck, signature model... let's tack on a grand or so

Gearjoneser, stop this nonsense. Stop playing games, sell those guitars you don't use and get a Lentz strat, you will look back and laugh that you were going to end your tone search with a stock Fender.

I love my G&L, but my Grosh smokes it and every other guitar I've played out of the water on all fronts.

I haven't played one of these yet but I'd like to try one out. EJ is very discriminating with his stuff and if he puts his name on something you know it's gotta be good!

I sae him play live on 1/20/05 and he was using a black signature strat and it sounded AMAZING. I mean i know with him his tone comes largely from his hands but even then I've never heard him sound THAT good. And his standard sounds are way above par anyway but MAN he took it to a new level that night.

I think that I've found someone who loves EJ's playing as much as I do, huh, Jonesy?

The only change that I would make to the thing is to change the 2nd tone control to control the bridge p'up. Other than that, it's perfect. I think I needs me one, too.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I gotta have a tone control on the bridge. Why on earth would EJ make it for the middle???

Hot Grits, as for the G&L being a stepping stone :laugh2: .....Trust me when I tell you, that particular G&L Legacy Deluxe that's quickly becoming my favorite guitar, is something I wouldn't trade for even a Suhr, Grosh, or Anderson. The neck is so perfect, it's almost like I gave my exact specs to G&L. I'd be so happy if every Fender strat had that same fat neck profile.

i saw this in Frontline too- I thought 'how many times can they resell the same guitar to people with minor changes, add a signature decal, and charge $700 more'.

At least the Blackmore strat from a few years ago was a bit of a departure.

Yeah, that's the main thing that makes it less attractive. I just wish they'd change the crappy 57/62 reissues, that have the spaghetti neck as well as the spaghetti logo into what the Eric Johnson strat is, then charge $1200....
or better yet, what it's worth....$750. I probably would be better off putting together a parts strat, although I'd probably assemble it out of all Fender parts, like I did with my blueburst strat.

One of the shops nearby is getting one. It is the sunburst model. It is a shop that likes to do trades. I have the 77 strat and an ibanez that I have been talking about trading recently. Well you all can put 2 and 2 together. The E.J. strat will be mine soon enough!!!!! It will be a Keeper I'm sure.
