JOYO Vintage Phaser?

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
script MXR? Yes, no, don't know?

These Joyo guys are intriguing these days. Anyone see a good YouTube comparison?

Re: JOYO intage Phaser?

I bought the Joyo Vintage Phaser a couple of months ago and I like it a lot. It's on my gigging pedalboard. I don't have an MXR script to compare it with but the phase tones that inspire me are all from the 70s - Dick Wagner / Steve Hunter, Johnny Winter, Scott Gorham, Jimmy Page. Those are script tones and this pedal gets me there. I was tempted by the MXR '74 reissue but I like that this pedal has an LED, DC input and true bypass. And it's so cheap I figured it was worth taking a chance. I'm not saying it's the last phaser I'll ever buy but it sounds great for those 70s tones and it's excellent value for money.

Yeah I keep thinking about the JOYO pedals, they do seem to be gaining a good reputation. they are pretty cheap and robust in construction too, so I think they are worth it, no matter what type of effect you prefer.

Well, if Joe Pass was using a Joyo Vintage Phaser, then I'm down with them!

Re: JOYO Vintage Phaser?

I just ordered their compressor based on the general reviews. I'm sure it will be the best 21 bucks I ever spent. LOL!

I just purchased the MXR script phase 90 with the LED / power jack after a lot of listening. I was not able to hear the joyo phaser in person but all of the sound samples I found online sounded a little thin and metallic which is why I opted for the MXR

Re: JOYO Vintage Phaser?

I just bought their 6 band EQ and Trem peddles. The EQ does the job and is very quiet. The Trem is simple and strait forward but sounds very nice. And, they're cheap. What else could you ask for.

Where are you guys buying JoYo without paying $34 shipping from China?

Re: JOYO Vintage Phaser?

Pedaltrader.com carries them. They even let you rent them by the month. If you like them they put what you paid for the rental toward the buying price.

Re: JOYO Vintage Phaser?

I paid 21.99 for the compressor pedal and 17.99 shipping. This was e-bay. Still under 40 dollars.

:lmao:

Seriously - that Joyo vs Suhr Riot thread is scary, and I believe just a touch of treble away from "no difference"

Just sayin'

And honestly, these days, I'm wondering if Behringer is now really Boss in disguise at an excellent price.

Re: JOYO Vintage Phaser?

Sturdy for something like a delay reverb wouldn't matter to me. It would get mounted in my rack and placed in a loop and would never get stomped on. Good to know about those pedals. Automatically assumed Behringer synonymous with cheap crap.

There have been a lot of rumours regarding this over the years but never any proof either way. It's something I should investigate.

The only thing I know is that the noisegate adds more noise :butkick:
