If you're looking to lower the gain and add some clarity, try this tube combo:

V1& V4 - 12AX7
V2 & V3 - 12DW7

I'm also using KT77's and Texas Heats.

I have heard they really shine with a tube change. I like the stock setup for now.........

Personally I dont know anyone who would buy a 3120 and want to reduce the gain on it....granted its a great idea for adding clarity but I loved my 3120 the way it was set up stock..

I don't know about JSX's but 3120s have this bizarre feature for reducing gain. It turns out that if you turn the gain knob counterclockwise the amount of gain goes down...
sorry, just f'ing around. The "Vintage" Channel with the gain around 9-10 o'clock produces a killer crunch tone

Using low gain tubes will yield much different results than just turning down the gain. Come on.
