Jupiter Rails experience?

I am thinking of buying a set of Jupiter Rails, any experience you can share?
They would be going in a mahogany neck/body guitar, bubinga top, ebony fret board. 25" scale

Other Duncan sets I have knowingly used: Black Winter set, Invader set, Jb 59, Custom V 59

Clean only has to be only good enough. Tuning a step down, moderate gain mostly, some gainier gain. I like neck.

On paper, it looks like they would rock. But I haven't tried them. I am not sure many people here have, actually. I'd be interested in a review.

I posted a thread inquiring about them. I don't think anything defnitive was agreed on, but I also did some research.

FWIW, I think some people described it as a "Duncanized BL L500XL". From what I can gather, it's brighter than most of the Duncan range, but not quite levels of bright as the Bill Lawrence stuff or the Dimebucker. Kind of a beefier, easier on the ear, but still bright blade pickup along those lines.

I was choosing between the Jupiter and a 500XL from Bill and Becky. I went with the Bill and Becky as I could get it in double cream and a matching pickup ring. And it was signifigantly less money lol.

Beefy, bright, Bill, Becky.
Beefy and bright sounds preety good to me. Now go ahead and make fun, but I have never heard of Bill or Becky and their L500. Another option to explore.
The hunt continues.

It's the actual Dimebag pickup. The Dimebucker is based off it.

After poking around and listening to youtube, youtube not the best to compare but o.k, I think the Jupiters sound better. A little more there, a little more full.

For whatever this secondhand opinion is worth, I just talked with a sales guy who's tried the Jupiters in a couple different guitars and he said they have a tendency to be harsh and brittle. His experience was good with 250k pots, he recommended against any higher values.

I want to try these, too. But I wanted to try the Invaders and Fluence Modern Open Cores more.

I have a set of Invaders in a Les Paul style guitar. I quite like them.
I have not got the Jupiter rails. The guitar I was going to put them in is no longer mine. I traded it to a young fellow ( with his dads blessing ) for a couple of days of good old pick up/put it down dig dig dig labour.

I have the Jupiter bridge in 2 guitars. Both unfortunately dont get much use however, the pickup is super modern and tight with medium/high output. For what it is worth, both the guitars i have it in do not sound great but i think its more the guitar than the pickup. I am thinking about pulling one of them and putting it in something else.

If you get a chance to try them in another (better sounding) guitar, let us know how they sound!
