Singing & "Bloopy",if that makes any sense.
LP-style Guitar(Epi,pretty balanced unplugged) thru a Marshall,generally."Rock" stylings,I guess you'd say.No tone pot...

Louder than the Jazz, more "pop" than a PAF Pro.
Not too squishy/loose on the wound strings.DiM SD @ br at the moment, mebbe a Super II?

Dunno...

That's a nice classic heavy rock combo with singing harmonics, but don't expect great clean tones ....

I considered that combo myself for this guitar with its early 70s dimarzio clones ( they are pretty much clones of Super 2s or maybe Larry cloned these [emoji6])
Much mystery surrounded these pickups and 2 luthiers who looked at it said they were pre 1975 DiMarzios due to the way they look exactly like them, brass plate, double size ceramic, adjustable hex poles, single hook up wire with outer braid as ground, so emailed dimarzio and got a response confirmation they aren't there's and what they thought they were.

I have never seen another pickup like it with brown bobbins...

But in the end put APH1s in as vintage PAF suits my playing style more and zebras look good...

If I played more high gain I may have gone down the super D / Super 2 route.

Rand-o, Im thinking at least something by Duncan.. I know you tend to swing on the Dimarzio playground.... But I usually find most of their pups kinda flat. If you want "bloop", (which I interpret as alil bit of shape to the tone) Id say a Duncan. Maybe a PG or AII2. A 59 prolly would be too Pam Anderson for you..

FWIW - I had a Gibson Burstbucker 2 with an A4 in the neck of my Les Paul Studio for a while and it sounded like what you are describing. The only reason I took it out was cause it was too hot for my set up, so it didn't clean up enough, for me. Not sure what amp you are using. A Gibson 496R is also a very good clear neck pickup, even on the bottom strings, cleans up well, louder than a Jazz, good for rock stylings and has some pop. Not saying those are the best choices, just what I happened to experience that sounds like what you are describing.
