Ive been looking at various types of strat bodies now for a project (as i never had owned a strat) and was just wondering about the ''universal'' setup for the pick-ups on the body.

Does this have any impact on the sound or performance as there is more wood removed from the body ?
Oh one more thing , Fender necks. This is about the heel width and thickness.
I found this neck that interests me, the heel width is 2.16"/ 55mm & the heel thickness is 1"/ 25mm. What type of fender body would this fit ? Would it fit most/any etc ?
