Just a question ....

Re: Just a question ....

Most definitely....if you're a billionaire and thousands of dollars for tubes doesn't put a dent in your spending money.

Re: Just a question ....

That's a lot of loot for an f-in tube man! It better knock your socks off @ that price!

Re: Just a question ....

Likely a New Sensor anyway. New Sensor is doing their darndest to convince consumers they are the second coming of the originals they now own the names of. Great marketing ploys if you think about it. By the time some consumers figure it out, they have already bought the reproductions.

Re: Just a question ....

Definitely not worth it because that is an IEC Mullard, made by the company which bought the Mullard name, and almost certainly not produced in the Blackburn factory where the legendary tubes were made. A lot of people are concerned about buying tubes from eBay, but I have had much worse experiences with so-called "reputable dealers." Their prices are ridiculous and they don't generally have the good stuff. If you know what you are looking for, and you communicate with the seller, eBay is a gold mine for vintage tubes. I have bought over 60 tubes from the 1950's and 1960's, without a single DOA, and some were excellent bargains, at or around the price of current production tubes.
