Just a quick prop to the Stacked P-90

Greetings to all my Seymour Duncan Lovin' brothas and sistas out there. I just wanted to take a moment to express my complete surprise at a specific Duncan pickup I recently discovered. I have a few different axes here which are humbucker-loaded. I'd never owned a P-90 equipped guitar before but have been interested in getting one after watching some Youtube video comparisons. I decided to hit Craigslist and find something cheap to mess around with. An Epiphone LP Junior seemed like a good choice as they are dirt cheap used yet are fairly well put together. The problem was all of them had humbuckers. Toward the end of the list there was one lone Vintage Sunburst with what appeared to be a soapbar P90. I quickly fired off a text to the seller and he explained that it was originally a Dogear and that his music teacher had swapped it out with a Seymour Duncan STK-P90b, the hum cancelling one. He said he still had the original Dogear and he'd throw it in the gig bag for me. Met the seller. everything looked straight, no cracks, just a little tuning peg rattle on the B-String which is no big deal. Still has the original cheap-O tuners on it which I'm going to replace next week. I put a new set of strings on it and removed the pickup mounting screws because the STK was sitting kind of cockeyed in the cavity. A couple pieces of broken popsickle sticks and a piece of foam from the bottom of one of my new pickup containers did the trick. Got it leveled nice and square. I tuned up and plugged into a Peavey U.S.A. Studio Pro 112 I have here. Had it on the vintage dirt channel with the preamp gain just about 10 o'clock, enough to put some hair on it without ramming it into the ground. I strummed an E-Minor all the way down and just WOW! Man I'm tellin ya this thing sounds wicked. The way it rang out with the dirt on it sent chills through me lol! I don't have a D.I. box and mic right now or else I'd post some sound bytes. However, as soon as I heard this thing it reminded me of a Youtube video I watched a while back where Phil-X visited the guys from Anderton's Music in the U.K. and he was demonstrating his stage rig. Anyway, I went back and found the video which I will link here if anyone is interested. When I strummed that E chord it sounded almost exactly like Phil X's Yamaha with his Arcane Pickups P-90 coming through his Evil Robot amps. Not kidding. I'm thoroughly impressed with this pickup. I haven't had much experience with P-90s aside from strumming on a few at Guitar Center and playing an old Epiphone Casino owned by a friend of mine but I'm in love with this STK. Props to Mr. Duncan! Just wanted to say thanks!

Anyone else out there had a chance to use one of these things? Your opinions?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAr7Tt_mLl8 Here's a link to that Anderton's/Phil-X video. Just fast forward to 10:45 and listen to him strum that E chord. That's almost identical to what this STK sounds like through my Peavey. Just amazing to me. Love it!

Rock on brothers and sisters.
