I have a little campaign going on regarding the knobs on the od....
The knobs are black, but I want them to be white or cream coloured.

So what do you think?

Re: Just asking...

My first vote is for cream, unless the writing on the pedal is white...it's hard to tell in the pic. I like the idea of the contrast of the lighter knobs, but white CAN look tacky on black, depending on the shade that is chosen. If it's a subtle shade matching the writing, I think it would look cool. To much of a "bright" white could ruin it.

Re: Just asking...

To be honest, I like the black.

Red might be cool though. Or tan. Or, how about a different color for each function for instant control identification. :laugh2:

Re: Just asking...

Hey Rid, you aren't, by any chance, the webmaster for Carl Martin products are you? I'll tell you why I'm asking after you answer. :laugh2:

Re: Just asking...

Haha nah that is me boss handy work to do that, and my photoshop and other Adobe goodies I only have for Mac right now, and no Macs in the house right now...sigh.
Lol no either black or cream/white knobs;)

Re: Just asking...

I think cream would really suit.. I think it would add a kind of vintage look to it in a good way so i voted cream..

And rid do you know of anywhere in Ireland that stocks your pedals..Im dying to try one but ive never seen anywhere, even on the net that has them..

Re: Just asking...

Hmmm.....after seeing the white, I'm going to have to say stay with the black. Looks classier, which is the way a high end pedal like that should look. I'm seriously looking at that pedal for my amp. It's either that or the Fulltone Fulldrive II. I don't need the od/distortion as much as I need a lead boost, and the occasional slightly higher gain liquid type sound.

Re: Just asking...

Well the first 100 are now soldered, the boxes are ready for their litlle trip into the oven for hardening the fontpaint.
Dunno who will get them, plans have been changed alittle...

Cool, because I didn't want to insult you.

Some of the grammer of the product descriptions is horrible, or at least "bad". It detracts from the otherwise professionalism of the site. Take, for instance, this description of the Hot Drive'n Boost MK3:

The anniversary Hot Drive’n Boost MK3, featuring a complete new overdrive design
that gives a even more authentic “tube” simulating overdrive than the original HDB,
which is know to be one of the best.
The new HDB MK3 sound like a tweaked up quality tube amp,
and on contrary nearly every other overdrive pedal does it not change the original tone,
has no midrange pronouncement, no low end cut of, no high end cut of,
all that gives a tone of a clear brilliant tube drive of it’s own.

Because the first sentence uses "featuring", instead of "features", the sentence is left hanging, without completeing the thought.

See if this reads better:

The anniversary Hot Drive'n Boost MK3, features a completely new overdrive design,
that gives an even more authentic "tube" simulating overdrive than the original HDB,
which is known to be one of the best.
The new HDB MK3 sounds like a tweaked up quality tube amp, and in contrast to nearly
every other overdrive pedal on the market, the MK3 does not alter the original tone
of the instrument. The MK3 has no midrange pronouncement, no low-end or high-end cut,
and provides a clear, brilliant, tube-drive tone thats unique to its design.

Hope I don't sound arrogant here, just poor English like that "bugs" me on a website. ;)

BTW - Carl Martin has my permission to use my re-written copy freely and without compensation to me in any way.
Or - he can tell me to go pound dirt up my a$$ . . . :laugh2:

Re: Just asking...

Haha lol well I know;)
Both the productionchief and me have pointed out a few of the same things you have discovered.
Actually I plan on giving my wife the job of cleaning up the worst of the mistakes, she loves to do that....
Like your rewrite there R2....mind if I copy them and give them to da bosshead??
Hehe it will be great to tease him, we love riling him up:D

Absolutely, however, I just realized that you all are in Denmark. Perhaps English isn't your first language, which would explain a lot. ;)

BTW - As far as distortion/crunch pedals go, how would you compare the following:

Hot Drive'n Boost MK3, The Fuzz, and the Crunch Drive?

Thanks. :)

And some of us have longer educations than other as well....oh my;) not that it gave us more money for that reason..haha
HDBmk3 is an overdrive, very clear and open, if you do not like your amp, do not get one because it does not colour much, The Fuzz is a distortion unit like a rat or Big Muff and so on, with lots of flexebility, it can also go all fuzzy if you want it simply chops everything up, the crunch is just a lowgain overdrive that is based loosely over the old HDB, but with different eq's.
Personally I do not like our current 9v line very much.

Re: Just asking...

Black, with Cream for the gain, because the tone of a plexi is so nice and creamy (assuming that´s the direction it´s supposed to go) ;)

*edit* Just saw, that´s actually similar to the second pic, which I like more

Re: Just asking...

Cream, baby! I might just have to buy one if I can get cream knobs! :laugh2:

Re: Just asking...

i voted cream cause i think it would make it differnt looking...... somethin to make it stand out
