Just bought a Kramer!

Well I bought it yesterday, but I haven't been to a computer since then.

I am a proud owner of a 1983 Kramer Pacer w/ original case! This neck is by far one of the best I've ever felt, not to mention owned. I don't have a camera with me yet (I will update with pics later) but it's black with the hockey stick headstock. It's got Schaller pickups in it right now, but I'll be throwing some Duncans in there as soon as my wallet recovers from Las Vegas. This is one of my dream guitars!

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Don't get me wrong I like the Schallers, but I guess I'm on the quest for the elusive perfect tone. I'll play around with different combinations before I make any final decisions, if pickups were ever final :)

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Post photos when you can, would love to see it. By the way, it can't be an '83. 1983 Pacers had the beak headstocks, yours would be a late '84 I believe. If its 2 hum pickups then its the Imperial model. Nice find. Here's my '83 Pacer Special I sold a week ago or so, I had a SD '78 model pup in it and sold it along with it. Oh and congrats!

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Thanks for the info! The guy I talked to at Ed Roman's said based on the serial number it was around an '83 so I just assumed it was. And by the way your guitar is the exact color of mine. I couldn't be happier with this guitar!

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Sweet looking guitar.....I am just redoing my '87 Kramer (repaint with a new Floyd and prails/triple shot for something different)

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Ed Roman? F*ck sakes, how much did you pay for that thing? Whats the serial number? Does it start with a B or C? Check out vintagekramer.com if you want more details. Here's what the site says your serial number for your Pacer should be.

1984-late 85 "banana" or "hockeystick' headstocks (C5000s-E2000s)

I hope its not a B plate, cause B plates were beak headstocks. I heard bad stories about Ed Roman, he's a dick and trust me knows nothing just pretends to. 1983 is wrong, if its a B plate unfortunately you bought a parts mutt but hey if you love it, thats all that matters I guess.

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Being another Kramer lover, congrats on the NGD. I hope you didn't get it from Ed Roman for your sake. Check out the Kramer forum. You can get all your answers there regarding your new Kramer.

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

Maybe he didn't buy it from Ed Roman and just asked them a question? Who knows, I hope he didn't buy it from him and besides the info he was given is of course wrong. vintagekramer.com and like mentioned before Kramer Forum are your best places to seek help and information about your guitar ;)

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

I did buy it from Ed Roman. It is a C plate. I tried it before I bought it. I don't get all the Ed Roman hate here. I dealt with a pretty cool dude named Scott over at his shop, and he answered all the questions I had and was very professional. I spent a lot less money on it then I thought I would, so all in all I am very happy with my dealings with them.

As for the pics they'll come soon, I'll have to borrow a camera since I lost mine :(

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

a few years back, a sam ash in miami had a pacer in brown, selling for kinda cheap, and they had it for a long time, when the time came that i could buy it, it had been sold. enjoy the axe!

Re: Just bought a Kramer!

There is one Kramer in my household, believe it or not it belongs to my wife and not me. She loves it and she will not part with it.
