while restringing my charvel today, i decided to change the ceramic magnet in it and put in the A5 magnet to make a C5.
well, obviously it didn't turn out the way i wanted it to. while taking the magnet out, it must've gotten broken because one of the coils just stopped working. i couldn't get it to be fixed, so i went to see if my dad could do something. he confirmed that the slug coil just stopped working, so in the end i just threw it away.
so in the end i put in the super distortion i had laying around in the charvel. it sounds pretty good, nice and chunky. even the neck pickups sound better now, weird stuff.

anywaysm just thought i'd share with you all what happened today
but damn't i wished i could've used it as a C5 to try it out :evil:

Stupid, should've kept the screw coil and sold it on here, you can make killer hybrid pickups with a custom coil.

you just snapped one wire. I'm betting you tried to slide the magnet out the wrong end. I did the same thing to a 59 model I have. Just resolder the wire. It's really small and it's broken.

the pickup was totally ****ed

i tried an tried to find out what was wrong, and it turned out something in the actual bobbin was messed up.

You know, it still might be worth keeping. The Duncan Custom Shop does rewinds to your specs for only $70. It'd be like getting a CS humbucker at half the price. :burnout:
