well my ULTIMATE screamer is done....say hello to the "Monroe Drive"
the guts are based off a BYOC board with loads of upgraded parts from the normal kit. the basics...all metal film 1% resistors, "tropical fish" caps for added mojo lol and several mods that you don't need to know about
i also used a bright pink LED to add to the Marilyn vibe.
so how does it sound? i'll never need to buy another OD! it does 100% what i want, from just a little boost on a clean channel to a marshall in a box when you crank it up. stick it in front of a high gain channel and notes will ring for days and just fly off the board! now i love my tube zone which is my current OD but this thing will be taking it's place on my board that's for sure! the upgraded parts and few select mods turned this into a whole different pedal from the typical screamer i've used i can't quite explain it but i think i found the perfect combo of mods and parts for a screamer.
so far i've had 3 people tell me i should sell these. so i may consider building a few more of them to sell (minus the tropical fish caps since they're getting harder and harder to find)....but i'm not sure if i want to do that yet.
i also have another pedal in the works (just designed the case today and placed orders for a pile of parts) so stay tuned!
