Just finishing my first pedal, and I need testers.

Re: Just finishing my first pedal, and I need testers.

Slight delay, folks. I decided to test fit everything before the paint job was complete, and I realize that the two 12-way rotary switches and their respective caps are simply too cramped once installed in the enclosure. It technically fits, but it's nuts in there – way too cramped. I fear it will cause shorts if anything gets moved out of position during use. Rather than getting a larger enclosure, I'll convert to 6-way switches before sending it out (since the plan was to go to at least half as many caps in the end anyhow).

To those who have PM'd me, I have got all your messages, and will get back to you when I have something interesting to report.

Here is a pic of my test board, showing the basic layout (jacks will be on the sides, not on top):

I got the enclosure in the mail today. It's drilled and the primer is drying as we speak. Should take two or three more days to get it completely painted, then another day to get everything transferred into it. I'll then mess with it for a day or two myself, and then send it out to FretFire. So, you're looking at getting it in the mail in 1.5 to 2 weeks, FretFire.

Here's a crappy phone pic of the primer drying:

Cool! I plan to test it in a couple of different settings: here at home and through a cranked amp mic'd up through a large PA. The gear I'll be using:

"Vintage style" tele
Dual P90 tele, more like an LP Special
65 Amps Memphis
Fender Bandmaster
Avatar 2x12 - V30/G12H30
Geezer 1x12 - Cannabis Rex

So, I should be able to give it a pretty good workout.

NOTE: my wife is 35 weeks pregnant, so if she goes into labor and my attention is diverted around the time this gets to me, I'll just pass the box along to the next person.

sounds like a cool idea for a pedal!

Love the idea. Lemme know how the prototypes turn out, I might be a customer and send some business your way. I got a guy who would LOVE this.

Sorry to have dropped the ball, folks. I promise I'll get back on it this week.

Yep, no hurry here. I'll play with it when it shows up.

That's what she said.

Really cool pedal idea. I love my Vox AC4 but sometimes wish it had a little more tone shaping, making it footswitchable is genius.
