Just got a Custom Trembucker for my Jim Root Tele

Really digging the Custom! It took me quite awhile to settle on getting the Custom, but i am very happy i did. I come from using EMGs.
It has taken a bit for my ears to get used to the pickup, but i do LOVE the way it sounds! I made a super quick recording of a riff i wrote using my Jim Root tele w/Duncan Custom and then did another using my John 5 tele that has a stock bridge pickup in it. Here are the two clips. I used a Mesa Mark IV amp model in my Fractal AX8 for the tone and an ML Soundlab Misha Mix 08 IR for the cab. Again this was super quick to record this so it may be a bit sloppy as far as my playing goes.

Would love to hear which you like the tone of better or if i could improve on something?

Second clip ain't work'n for me yet, probably will by the time I type this post though.

First clip is really good man. Good riffs and clear tone and mix.
You have any full songs/albums?

Thanks for your input! I really appreciate it! Just out of curiosity what about the 2nd clip do you not like?

At first I didn’t like the 2nd clip but it really grew on me the more I listened to it. :)
I really like the Custom now!

Here is a full song of a project I’m working on. I used the J5 for this track though.

I have A LOT more coming soon!

I think he means that the link doesn’t work. I clicked on it as well and it took me to SoundCloud but there wasn’t anything there to listen to.

I'm sure the second one is good too, just based off the first one, but yeah it's not clicking through.

I hope you go less is more on the vocals though. Your composing skills really carry this style wonderfully.
Nice to hear high energy music that isn't overdone with technicality and totally jammed with vocals.

Sounds like some awesome stuff to practice my lead-chops to also.

Yeah, good stuff indeed.
I prefer the Custom in the Jim Root.
Has a touch more clarity, but still heavy
as sh!t. Nice work Cory, keep it up.

Peace,

Darrin

Thank you for the kind words Darrin!!!

I have more tracks I'm working on at the moment. I'll post them up as i finish them.

Love the Custom in my Jim Root! It's everything i wanted it to be...being that i come from the EMG 81/85 camp prior to Seymour Duncan. I'm not sure there is a better pickup for me now and...NO MORE BATTERIES YEAH!!!!!!!!!
