Just got a Duncan Designed HB-112 (Screamin' Demon meets JB meets Duncan Distortion?)

Re: Just got a Duncan Designed HB-112 (Screamin' Demon meets JB meets Duncan Distorti

Have you ever bought several items at once from that seller? I am still waiting back to hear from him from a message I sent 3 or 4 days ago about buying 3 or 4 Fender Mustang bridges and now I'd be up for 2 or 3 of these DD Screaming Demons. I'd hate having to buy them piecemeal one by one and paying separate shipping but the guy only got back to me once about the combined shipping and now is AWOL.

They are standard Duncan black. I have some from that same seller's lot...

yeah you will love that duncan designed model, it was their best IMO:)
a tighter more aggressive JB/DD hybrid

Another reason I'm stumped as to why Seymour Duncan never released a JB+ or DD Lite as it seems like it would have a segment of new fans and Im sure there would be tons of people that would think it is the ideal bridge pickup (similar to the way people go nuts for the Custom 8).

Fusion1 - I just sent you a PM. I have two HB112's left that I haven't used, in case you're interested in one (or both)!

I had one of these pickups in my mahogany charvel clones a few months ago. It sounded good for high gain rock but it was nothing that knocked my socks off. I'd take JB,DD or Demon over it any day. That said for the price it's a great deal and I'll keep for a beater axe that I hope to buy someday.

FINALLY got around to testing this.

Thrashtastic. It has the growl of the Distortion with the tightness of the Full Shred. I've got it in an Affinity Strat which is a thinner alder bodied guitar, and it's just awesome. May even be better than the Deton8r. I'll really have to play with it some more later.

I originally had the Duncan Designed version of the Sreaming Demon that I put in my kid's guitar and it sounded awesome. I traded it for an old pair of PRS pickups that I took out of a friend's guitar. Bad trade. They were great and the PRS pickups don't have anywhere near the same tone and bite. I wish I never made the trade.

Aside from the row of screws and row of hexheads, this has nothing to do with the Screamin' Demon. I'm pretty sure it's a Distortion with different screws. (It measures at about 16.5k.)

BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!!! Hey, anyone else use this pickup, mod it, love it stock? More like a Demon or Distortion? I'm wanting to put a different pickup in my Epi Casino and I'm torn between the APH-1 and putting this HB112 in it (bridge). I know it may be a squealfest with the HB112, but I had a JB in there for years and it wasn't that bad.

Sorry about the bump, but I thought this would be a good place to post some more pics of the Duncan/Ibanez HB103B...

As you can see, the magnet is standard thickness and the hex pieces are the same length as the fillisters (long).

I can verify that the DCR is ~17k.
