I got one of these today at a pawn shop for $200 in excellent condition, with the original case and all the hangtags.

Anyone have any info on this model?

All I know is that it has a Khaler trem, it's made in the US, and it sounds pretty good with the pickups it has in it now (though I wouldn't mind suggestions on new pickups that would suit this beastie ).


BTW, mine is in a really cool torquise-liek shade of blue.

i had one years ago, mine came stock with a dimarzio super distortion in the bridge slot with a coil tap switch, im not sure about the single coils.good guitar for 200, enjoy!

For $200 you got yourself a good Superstrat.... I would of bought it in a second for $200 myself... nice score! A friend in highscool had one of them and i always wanted one for myself! Fender started to make a model like the HM again a few years ago but i think they didn't last... Real Floyd this time, but they were expensive and i think they have been discountinued already..

Back in the day the HM Strat put my Kramer Striker to shame..... But back then i made very little money.. $3.50 an hour after school at a supermarket in the mid-later 80's.... I was lucky to get the Striker!

Thanks guys.

Now all I need are some tips regarding the set up and maintenance of the Khaler trem. This is my first guitar with any kind of locking trem, so thiat will be an adventure in and of itself. I'll keep y'all updated as to how it goes. :burnout:

Damn- I remember playing that guitar at a Sam Ash in the late 80's- I tried the HM Strat, and a Black Kramer Ritchie Sambora model- I wanted each of them sooo bad but couldn't afford them back then..... Killer guitar.

Now I can buy 10 of them if I could fine them :banana:
