Just Highest Output Passive Humbucker On The Market

Re: Just Highest Output Passive Humbucker On The Market

I think the KA Motherbucker is louder than the SLUG.

I'd reckon the loudest possible pickup would be if you did a mashup between the design of a Motherbucker, silver wire, a neodymium magnet, and Bill Lawrence style rails. This would maximize the inductance as well as minimizing the resistance, leading to higher voltages. I could not speak for any potential musical applications though.

Dual blade or standard wound..? Thin copper wound get a higher output. Interested..?

I wonder how that would fare with El Diablo in the neck position...:scratchch

I want to say that it has been done - not sure who by though.

Somebody did double up a Slug too, one in bridge and neck.

The Slug makes a great bass pickup by the way.

Re: Just Highest Output Passive Humbucker On The Market

I can make one for you. I'd have to order parts if you wanted blades but, standard screw and slug and I'm good to go.

Would you like such a pickup..?

I was just talking purely hypothetically. Designing a neodymium pickup with four blades and 44 AWG silver wire would not be cost effective to design, even if you got a good sound on the first try.

Yes, with silver wire, it would be a high cost. I do however, have copper wire of that and other gauges and neo magnets kicking around. I can get the blades in if you want or make you a standard screw/slug model.

That or, see if SD would rewind a Kramer QuadRails with silver 44. I think they only have 42 to 44 gauges. Outside of that seems impossible.
