It's unreal how stoked I am. I hope I can get this done right as I'm a novice. I got the kit with the cut knob on it. I can't wait until next week. yipeeeeeee

Scott, I may need advice. lol

Did you get the transformers that Stephen/Trinity sells? (I hope so!)

I think you'll be pretty happy. Call me if I can help. Lightnings are extremely underrated and have some of the best tone I've ever heard in a 2xEL84 amp.

I am going to order the transformer they sell. I figure I'll get started on the amp and then order it when I get a little farther in.

I'm trying to decide if I want to make a head or combo cab. I have a solid Peavey classic 1/12 cab I could use with a head. I would of course swap the speaker out.

I'm trying to get STephen to send me the cab plans.

I'm glad your getting this. I think my graduation present (for myself, with my signing bonus) will be their 18 watt EL-84. I loved their soundclips. They seem like a good bunch of guys, good luck!

Re: Just ordered my Trinity 15

Stephen sent me some plans for a head and a combo. I'll probably have a lot of questions as I start to build it. Mostly I'm confused about how the baffle attaches and how to do the grill cloth and tolex. I need to decide on the colors. I'm thinking Navy for the cab and tan for the valance.

I've got a head that Stephen built for me. His workmanship is pretty incredible in case you're thinking of having someone build it for you.

I had Jeff Swanson build the little combo for my 1x12 and it turned out pretty good. Solid poplar wood.

There'a forum bro here that is about to make a 1x12 for me. I'll let you know how it turns out. He has wished to remain anonymous so far, but I'm hoping this first one is one of many he will have to build for me.

Oh yeah, on tubes, JJ all the way on this puppy. On the preamp tubes, give the JJ ECC803S a try in all 3 spots. you 'll thank me later.

I was going to order JJ's. I'm not going to skimp on the tubes that's for sure.

My dad's hobby is woodworking and he has a fully decked out woodshop in his garage. Some of the stuff he's done is quite amazing. He's going to lend his expertise to the cab building. In fact, I think he's started to build a finger joint jig for one of his saws already.

You're lucky. My woodworking skills are non-existent.

Mine are minimal at best. However, Dad is a perfectionist so I think the cab will turn out well. If they are good maybe I'll build a few extras.
