Just Picked Up a Nice Dirty Blonde!

Well, after admiring this blonde from my friend's amp collection in the past 15 years or so, I finally have her. I'm the third owner. She was collecting dust in the collection (and hadn't been played in almost 20 years) so after I purchased her, we opened her up and checked the tubes (all tested great)..Then took out all the original Astron caps and replaced with new Spragues. The guy I bought it from asked me if I wanted to add a small (and easily reversable) mod to protect both trannies with extra fuses, and I decided to do it (you'll see the long white fuse holders in the pics). He also installed a 3 prong power cord..After everything tested fine on the amp, we then hooked her up to the original cab and cranked her up..She sounds very healthy! I opened up the cab and it's all original inside, including the two Oxford speakers and fiberglass batting. The tolex and grill are also original.

So, here are some pics I took once home..I took her apart and thoroughly cleaned her as best as I could (which took about 9 hours)..So here she is: 1963 (November) Bassman w/6G6-B circuit:

Plexi palace iss back? I tried acsessing that website for a long time and thought it wasnt online any longer. And by the way, that blonde is so raunchy shes just a total slut

Thanks for the compliment! And yes Plexi Place is still going..I never noticed it going down?

Oh, and by the way the '77 Yamaha SG 500 in one of the photos has a SD Crazy 8 PU in the bridge position and a Jazz in the neck..That Crazy 8 is making believers out of my friends and acquaintances!

Thanks! You know what's even more beautiful? Diming this baby on the Normal channel with a humbucker equipped guitar..Then you'll know what all those overdrive pedals are trying to emulate..But mostly fail!

Salt in the wound for me.:17: I had the same amp about 20 years ago. Back in the day B4 the inter-web when I was gear ignorant. I had no idea what I had, Mainly cuz' it had been painted black! It was in a slight state of disrepair.( all it needed where filter caps and screen resistor + new tubes) But I didn't have a clue back then.:boggled: So Traded it :duh: I don't recall what I got for it? Cept' a good hosing . Good luck with it.:beerchug:
