hi all, i just had my jb/jazz put in my epi lp. ok the neck is much much much louder than the bridge, do you guys think something is wrong? maybe pickup height or pole pieces not set right? can anyone help, is it possible the jb and jazz are switched making the neck output louder? thanx for the help, if it just an adjustment maybe someone here can onstuct me on how to do it. aloso the screws in top of the pickup are not lined up with some of the strings does that matter? thanx

It could be a number of things, I'd check the pickup height first. If it doesnt fix it, take a look at the wiring.

Use your ears when adjusting pickup height. Start with the bridge pup-get it to where its pushing your amp the way you like, then adjust the neck to be egual to (or slightly lower) in volume. The pole pieces should only be adjusted after you do this, and then only to get equal volume across all strings.

That's normal. You can probably tweak the pickup height.
Get the pickups as close to the strings as they can get without touching.. then start backing off the neck pickup until it sounds right.
