OK I have a standard 2 hum(passive) 1 vol, 1 tone, 3 way toggle. just like http://www.seymourduncan.com/wiring-diagrams?meta_params=guitar-options,2-pickups,neck-h,bridge-h,1-volume,1-tone,3-way-toggle,accessory-none Pretty much the only difference between that diagram and my actual wiring is the ground to bridge. I don't have that. Anyway like the title says I just did some rewiring as I had some wires come loose. I wound up replacing the original pots with some larger fender pots. Anyway The volume pot for sure doesn't really change the volume, it does however add "noise". The tone knob seems to be working as advertised, although it's really hard to tell when your volume knob isn't working correctly. The output, volumewise, is fairly loud maybe 7/10 I'm wondering if I "burnt out" the pot, but I was trying to be careful with how much heat it got during soldering. I took a multimeter to it, not knowing what I was doing, and the switch is working just fine, and all the grounds seem to be solidly connected. I'm fairly certain there is a way to check the resistance of the pots as the dial gets turned, which I suppose checks the integrity of the pot but I don't know how to do it.
Anyway, If anyone has any feedback or suggestions, feel free to criticize me
