I just finished modifying my Boss DS-1 with a "Keeley Ultra" type kit that I got from eBay. And against all odds, I got it to work on my first try without any problems. Which surprised me, as I've never modified a pedal before (Guitars yes, but not anything else).
I haven't played with it very long but It sounds way better than the stock DS-1. But I am curious, does anyone with experience with "Keeley" eBay kits (or home made to his specs) ever compared it with one of his actual Ultra modified pedals? were they about the same or completely different?
Also, when I play lightly or normally it sounds very dynamic and reacts very well to my attack and sounds very sweet. But when I play very aggressive, it compresses a lot. those that sound about right or did I mess up and not realize it?
Oh! And I love that blinking Red LED that lights with my playing, I can't stop looking at it while playing, it's almost hypnotic...:bigeyes2:
