Keith Urban CMT's video awards show last night.

Did anyone else watch this? The tone he got out of that Larivee was just stunning. It sounded far better than his original recording even. Looks like he had an SD mag mic in it. The mids were ON FIRE on that guitar!!! It just gave me chills. I was really wowed by his tone and I don't really like country music. I like the artists though and I respect the old timers who really developed country music into a real art form. Hats off the Keith for using whatever it was to make that guitar sound like a million bucks plus a bag of chips. If that's just the mag mic doing it's thing, I'll be saving up for one. It was definitely the best sounding acoustic recording I've heard.

Keith is the man, period. I've never seen him using a Larivee before. He was 30 minutes away two nights ago but I couldn't go see the show.

He played stupid boy on a stage complete with light show in Australia. I'll bet it was a recording because he's too busy wearing out Nicole Kidman's fine little fanny to worry about CMT video awards. I'm pretty sure it was a recording because there was no banter or chatter etc. He just went into playing the song and that was that.

He sounded really good. At one point he strained his vocals a tad too far IMHO, but other than that it was a really great performance and a really good song. Of course, I could just be impressed with his tone etc and ignoring everything else.

I love how that song just builds from mild mannered acoustic to full on bada$$ rocker....LOVE IT !
