I'm trying to remember Kerry's secret ingredient ... I know he runs some low tech style device in front of his amps which he considers an integral part of his sound ... damn I wish I had the intervie when he talks about it.

Yeah, I figured that's what it was. I was under the impression that artists endorse "signature" stuff all the time but don't always use it live...maybe in the studio, do you think? or smaller gigs? Maybe it's on his pedalboard?

Yes, they are modded. They had to have been modded at least a bit, to accept the 6L6 tubes.

No .. we're talking something that wasn't actually designed for guitar use. I forget what it was, but it wasn't Dunlop. This was a piece of lo-fi basic stereo equipement if I remember correctly.

Kerry used 6550's in his JCM-800's last time i checked. But yes, they would have to be modded for that too.

A friend told me he had a hell of a time getting through Canada Customs at the border once....., but this was years ago.
