Kicking The S**T Out Of A Tube Amp

Re: Kicking The S**T Out Of A Tube Amp

It's packed well, not a huge surprise. I would be much more impressed if it was a full size head that weighs 60lbs or so than a small, light lunchbox head, it's easy to pack light stuff so it will survive big drops.
This. I once had an amp's transformer mounts damaged in transit. Amp survived just fine but it took a big enough shock and the tranny was heavy enough to pull it off the chassis.

Most impressive part to me was how the amp cleaned up when he backed off the volume.

He claims that a future test will be on the 100 watt MIDI head

I've used one of these and they are seriously nice amps, built like bricks.

His vintage tones sounded great but the modern lead tones not so much. I would love to see them throwing this one from the window.

It hits the ground and bounces pretty easily. A bit too easily for something that probably has a couple of transformers in it. It doesn't sound like it has weight in it when it hits the ground.

Even if it can survive a drop from the window, I can still break it just by turning it on without a cabinet plugged in.
