Just a heads up - if you're into surf, not a good choice - go with the Squier Vintage Modified series instead. Otherwise have at it.

Glad I didn't see this in time. Keeping my eyes on the prize for an AVRI... Need to start thinking quality above quantity for my next purchase.

I agree with Squier VMs though; much better (as far as accuracy) than any of the CP (or even Japanese) models, really can't go better short of a Classic sixties or an AVRI (both a significant jump higher, and really, if you can afford the Classic Lacquer you might as well jump on an AVRI.)

Still, if I needed something with humbuckers that HH would be near the top. Such comfortable guitars. FYI, 60% of those no-name tremolos are crap... I've had to either replace them with AVRI units or spend hours sanding the edge until they work. They mess with break angle as well, the way they sit.

They ran this deal on 2 different days, the first time I put in my billing info and it wouldn't check out, then I saw they had a new deal up so they sold them all. I figured oh well, it wasn't meant to be. A few days later they had them again so this time I jumped on it and got one. I just got it in yesterday, and it plays nice.

I'm thinking I need some Prails for it, this seems like the perfect platform to try them. i'm not huge on surf rock anyway.

It plays pretty good, I have to adjust the bridge a bit lower and it really needs a buzz stop thing for the bridge to make the break angle right and keep the strings in the saddles.

The stock fender buckers aren't terrible though, can I add triple shots over a pick guard or does that look terrible ?

Some Prails will definitely be in it once I've got some money again.

I dislike the buzz stops; the trem doesn't work so well with them. I'd recommend shimming the neck to get better break angle, also US tremolos work much better, and give greater break angle over the strings than the cheapo blank plate/Japanese trems. Guess it doesn't matter if you don't want to use the trem.
