KLIPP vs. Supergroup

Ok, so which one was really the Iommi's amp back in the golden era of Black @#$%^&* Sabbath ??? I saw a lot of stage photos where it was definately the Supergroup, yet a lot of people who sell KLIPPs on ebay convinced that KLIPP was used by him as well, what really tickles me about ht KLIPP is that it was build with treble boost inside which was bascially emulating the Dallas RangeMaster, plus the KLIPP aproach to gain. It is also believed that KLiPP are more sought after in the vintage market than Supergroups. Why ? the KLIPP gain and the trebleboost ??? Thanks guys.

Re: KLIPP vs. Supergroup

he used supergroups. Poeple on ebay say anything laney was used by iommi. they tend tend to have that since they arnt really as famous compared to marshall lets say

Re: KLIPP vs. Supergroup

Yea, he definitely used the supergroup. I'm sure a klipp would get close to his sound but wouldnt nail it. The klipp's seem to be going for much less than the supergroups as well.

Re: KLIPP vs. Supergroup

i wouldnt say that a klipp couldent nail his tone, you can nail his tone with a marshall, or modern laney if you tried. Ie done it with my vc100.

Think i saw a klipp on ebay, not interested though. rather have a super

Why SG vs. KLIPP ?

Re: KLIPP vs. Supergroup

supergroup was the name of the company at that time, then another group of people bought it and named it laney/klipp or somthing, then the aor series was also another change in ownership

Hmm ... I thought that the whole KLIPP overdrive was designed by Lyndon himself as well as the Supergroup, i.e. that was the original Lyndon Laney, Laney amps, and that it was only with AOR that new people came in. Now I am confused.
