Re: Knopfler cleans on a pair of SSL1's
I'm game!
Painfully generic, uninteresting riffs interspersed with totally random, pointless, unmusical 80s cock rock showboating with okay fretting accuracy. Timing's kinda all over the place. On the whole, I would rather be forced to listen to the rhythmic humming of household appliances than listen to that again.
You do, however, have nice, bright, crunchy tone, and good pick attack. So I liked that. Also, I worry that your picking technique is really choked up and is severely limiting you from generating powerful downstrokes that are repeated for any significant length of time (ie anything that is downpicking madness a la Metallica or Iced Earth)
But hey, I'm just some guy on the internet whose opinion means squat, so feel free to ignore me or call me names if you prefer.
Also: It's a shame you have to be so confrontational or snide about your clips and others' clips on this forum, because those are some damn cool guitars you're building. You'd probably get along much better 'round here if you showed us those beauties and let your customers handle the clips. But anyway, what's the deal with using Fender's headstock? Are you in some sort of agreement that legally allows you to sell stuff with a strat headstock?
Also also, I liked those clean tones. sounded almost like an mic'd acoustic or classical guitar with all that treble brilliance.
