Re: kombi custom

Back in the 1960s there was a hip word for 'great', or 'cool', along with words like 'fab' and 'groovy'. The specific word i'm thinking of was 'gear'.

In light of the retro look and the VW theme, I'd just like to say ...

" Ghia !"

Glad you explained that. haha i first thought it was a reference to the Italian car designer with the last name GHIA.

Re: kombi custom

That is pretty cool! My first car was a 1969 Type III fast back. Ever go 110 MPH in an air cool VW? It was far from stock.

Re: kombi custom

Please don't confuse things for me anymore. Up till now i thought the GHIA was the name of a ****ty ford falcon.

from www.answers.com .......

" A leading Italian automobile body stylist company founded by Giacinto Ghia in Turin in 1915, the Carozzeria Ghia was known for classic designs such as the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia (1955), car bodies for Chrysler and luxury models, such as the Maserati Ghibli (1968). Giorgetto Giugaro had become a director at Ghia in 1965 but the company was bought by the American manufacturer Ford in 1972, resulting in designs for the Ford Capri Ghia (1974) and Escort Mark II (1975).See also Karmann, Wilhelm.
