Yes it was. IIRC, it was the very first issue of High Performance Mopar magazine. The article was called Rememberence Of Things Fast. The guy who owned that had one of the seventeen 440 six pack convertibles from 1971 and one of the seven or eight Hemi convertibles. Must be nice.

Actually, I did an internet search and found an eBay auction for the magazine! It was in a 1987 Musclecar Classics magazine. Here's the link.

We had a Black with Gold Hardware Carved arch top Stagemaster in the shop I worked in back in 1988 but stupid me bought a Showcase Edition USA Custom Shop Gibson U-2 instead. What a POS that Gibson was and what a masterpiece the Kramer was:banghead::banghead::banghead:!

I still remember the night a guy here in Birmingham jumped on my 71 455 HO ex superstock GTO with a MINT Lemon Twist 440 6 Pack hardtop 71 Challenger. I thought he was going to pull the steering wheel off when I left him like he was tied to a stump!
It was around 1980 and little did he know my ratty looking UGLY Burn Orange 1971 455 HO 4 speed 390 geared no air no power steering no power brakes ex super stock GTO was packing 500+ and was a legit low 11 second street car!
Those were the days MAN. 6 months ago I just sold my last 71 Goat and am now driving a big V90 Volvo wagon. Nice ride but I miss having 500+ HP and 650 + Ft LBS of round port pure Pontiac power under the right foot!!

THAT was a sweet ride, although either the Challenger or the driver had something wrong with them if you smoked it that badly. You should have won, but not killed. My dad had a 1973 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 400, and even though it wasn't a true musclecar (I guess), that thing would smoke the tired by just TOUCHING the accelerator. I was only eighteen or so and I didn't clock the thing 0-60, but it would pin you back in the seat when you hit it. My mechanic had a cherry 66 triple black tripower convertible, and there was a guy in the neighborhood who had a cherry red with a white interior and top 65 or 66 convertible for a short period around 1992 when the neighborhood got really bad. He sold it because he just didn't trust the neighborhood as far as vandalism and theft. Too bad.
