Kramer Baretta Special?

Have seen a few of these modded with Floyds. One major necessity is making a shelf for the locking nut to sit on, taking into account a portion of the headstock angle.

If you do it yourself, you still come out cheaper than the one which comes stock with a Floyd.

Are they series/parallel or series/split?

The regular Baretta is coil split, but the 84 is series/parallel, apparently.

Anybody seeing one of the models with a maple fretboard in stock anywhere? I've found a couple black with rosewood, but none with the maple FB.

nothing was even wired up in it and it was not even tuned up. It was literally thrown together quickly for it.

So there was this time, Seymour Duncan, the man himself, was getting ready to play one of his Uber-Tele's with Zephyrs...and this guy [who shall remain nameless], forgot to wire the pickups because it was in a photo shoot earlier.... funny stuff! It happens.

Guitar Center had the Candy Blue in stock last week, but sold out in 30 minutes. I haven't seen the others with maple fingerboard in stock since mid December last year. I would check daily at AMS and Guitar Center.

There was a big advertising push on Kramers a month or so ago, which is why they all sold out. I hope Gibson revives some of their other brands, too.

your best bet if you really want one is not to wait til they're back in stock. just order one. I ordered mine when it was backordered, and when it shipped it never showed in stock on the website. whatever stock came in went towards the back log.

Mm, headless guitars are popular nowadays, maybe it's time to revitalize Steinberger a bit - trans trem, more pu options than there were originally, revive some of the other body styles like M and P.

That would be great, but man, they missed the boat on that. However, it is a lot more expensive to ramp up production of TransTrems and graphite necks than the Kramer brand. I wish they'd sell Steinberger already.

^^ Yes, they'd cost probably about 3k up if they were to have the graphite necks and so on like the originals. It'd be a difficult position, as legacy instruments, because the headless/composite material thing has gone down new paths in the last 30+ years, with the likes of Aristides and others.

I guess these reissue Kramers are in a similar kind of position, like what Erik mentioned earlier in the thread, they're kind of essentially stuck as being legacy instruments. The superstrat and pointy market is broad, and people might not necessarily go to Kramer for something 'new'.

Yes, the good thing is that Kramer's formula is pretty cheap to produce. Market using some nostalgia, and everyone who was an EVH fan in the 80s will get one, especially for the price. It is a pretty slam-dunk sale right there.

I'm sure Gibson is bringing in the big bucks from the Kramer brand these last few years. Most models seem to be selling like hotcakes. We're seeing more guitars every year. Some old, some new. I'm actually looking forward to seeing their upcoming signature guitars coming up, too.

Snake Sabo Kramer was about to be unboxed at the shop when I left...

The Alto Music listing on Reverb I mentioned earlier is almost sold out on the black Beretta Specials. There was 20 in stock a few days ago when it first popped up, and now they're down to only 3 in stock!

I bought a candy blue Beretta about six or seven months ago. I modded it with a Wilkinson Bridge, Gotoh tuners, JB no logo humbucker and added a second knob with a coil split switch. All in I tip the scales at $300 and it’s really cool sounding fun little guitar
